Drenge on while getting ready* for a night out. Bliss.
It’s the cops are coming in type of sobering up
It’s a girl who never learned that I could not give enough
And my friends are happy, I’m happy, I’ve learned to adapt
Darker kind of humor and I can still hear ‘em laugh
also me and starkie shared a bottle of wine, very sophisticated, i had a very sophisticated evening.
a random girl bought me a shot last night… if this is feminism, i’m all for it.
Getting *properly* drunk for the first time in aaaaaaaages tonight, old habits die hard, i’ve just used a jug to pour gin into a hipflask and an empty water bottle. I’m taking loads less than i would have done when I was 18 mind, my younger self would be so disappointed in me. On the other hand I’m loads better at sex now, so swings and roundabouts isn’t it?
uniform - bloc party
i’ve gotten so good at lying to myself.

Bloc Party - A Weekend In The City
Not done one of these in ages, since December in fact. This is Bloc Party’s second album and my favourite of theirs. I’ve mentioned before that obviously Silent Alarm is held in high regard - because it’s brilliant - but the wide held belief that it’s their best album is incorrect in my eyes. It has some brilliant songs but for me AWITC is just bigger, better and a more well rounded album. The lead of I Still Remember into Sunday is one of the best I can think of, Hunting For Witches is important as well as being a kick ass song too. I really like the sort of juxtaposition of personal, private lyrics and stories with grander themes.
Bloc Party is possibly the only artist left who I desperately want to see live and I am in June. Last time they played manc they played the GMEX which holds 10000~ people, I’m seeing them playing The Ritz to 1000~, it is going to be fucking amazing.
hey, it’s a sunday over two years later and i’m listening to this.
