We won the War Of The Roses and we won the War Of The Hop, yesterday.
I think yesterday was my favourite ever time watching Los Campesinos! This was due to a number of reasons, I may as well just list them:
- In Media Res
- Knee Deep At ATP
- Romance Is Boring
- We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed
- Letters From Me To Charlotte
- New Song!
- Y! M! D!
- The Sea Is A Good Place To Think Of The Future
- Sweet Dreams, Sweet Cheeks
I can’t remember if they played Death to LC! but either way, it was like the best setlist ever, ever, ever. First time I’ve seen Knee Deep for like 20 months and it is stiill fucking amaze live as is In Medias Res.
The crowd had one nobhead in there, but we (the rest of the crowd) just spent the majority of the gig pushing him about. The Crowd was fantastic, I was with 3 of my best mates and the room was tiny. 200 capacity, I don’t think I’ll ever see LC! is such small settings again. Beautiful.
Away from LC!, we caught the back half of Emmy The Great’s set when we sat on the front row. We were still pumped from LC! and soon became the loudest cheer-ers there. And she ended up saying she “liked us” and that we were the “fun guys” and should start a band. She also made the rest of the crowd cheer us, which was awesome. Proof - if you needed it - that I’m awesome in person. Anyway, boy that girl can sing can’t she? Lovely.
Earlier in the day we saw Dinosaur Pile Up who were alright and Runaround Kids who were really really great. We also caught Kate Jackson Band (lead singer of Long Blondes guys!) and Skint and Demoralised.
Such an ace day for £12.
